Eligibility
Can we actually apply?
This opportunity is open to organisations with standard eligibility. Check if your organisation is eligible . Who is eligible to apply Project lead The project lead for this funding opportunity must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) funding for the duration of the grant. Before applying for funding, please check the UKRI eligibility criteria . Project leads from the following organisations are not eligible for this funding opportunity: • UK-based business, third sector or government bodies • non-UK organisations The project lead must ensure that they contribute an appropriate proportion of their time to the overall leadership and coordination of the grant, in addition to any time allocated to research and knowledge mobilisation activities. Applications may be submitted jointly by more than one applicant. In such cases, one person must be regarded as the project lead taking the lead responsibility for the conduct of the project and the observance of the terms and conditions. Correspondence regarding the application and award will be addressed to the project lead only (and in the case of any grant agreement, to their research organisation). Project co-leads Your application must include at least one project co-lead from business, the third sector or government bodies based in the UK, subject to ESRC eligibility and costing rules . As an exception for this centre, you may allocate more than the usual 30% of total costs (at 100% FEC) to non-academic partners where clearly justified, and while remaining within the total budget available for this funding opportunity. The combined time commitment of research staff from non-academic partners can also exceed one year full time equivalent (FTE) for the duration of the project. This flexibility will enable the meaningful involvement of key local, regional and national stakeholders, whose participation is critical to the centre’s effective operation and capacity to deliver outcomes. If you wish to exceed the 30% cost threshold or the combined time commitment cap, you must clearly justify this in your application, specifically within the ‘Justification of resources’ section. We also strongly encourage you to explain your planned approach and its rationale when answering the application questions on ‘Applicant and team capability to deliver’ and ‘Working collaboratively with partners and stakeholders’. Eligible costs remain the same as those outlined in the ESRC projec
